The English Home - October 2020

Our October edition is full of renewed hope and optimism. Despite the huge challenges that the design and interiors industry has faced this year to date, a flurry of exciting new collections have been released against the odds, providing fresh inspiration for every area of the home. We celebrate with our edit of the new collections (page 78) and highlight some favourite updates (page 22 and 24). As autumn is also a time when many tackle home improvements ahead of the winter retreat indoors, we look at how to make the most of our living spaces. Our feature Measured Response (page 100) shows how bespoke designs can provide functional yet distinctive solutions to common design dilemmas, whilst interior designers share the process behind creating beautiful en-suite bathrooms and dressing rooms (page 112). We also share a fascinating peek inside three live/work spaces owned by creatives who have mastered the art of working from home, which feels both poignant and inspiring. This abundance of new designs and approaches feels appropriate for autumn as an established key time for interiors and for harvesting nature’s bounty (more of which in our Quintessentially section, page 125). We hope you enjoy both this season.
